The prevailing weather conditions favours the prevalence of meningitis and as such;

The weather conditions for the areas in red are highly favourable for meningitis outbreak, While the conditions of places in Orange puts the locations under moderate situation and the areas in yellow and gray are places where low and no meningitis vigilance is required.

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) recommends the following precautions to reduce the risk of the spread of meningitis: • Avoid crowding and ensure adequate ventilation andairflow in the home.

​Use disposable tissue to cover the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.

​Consistently thorough washing of hands especially after sneezing or coughing.

Seek proper diagnosis and treatment at a medical facility if a sudden high fever or neck stiffness occurs.
